My Ne*Yo Experience.
I wasn't really exposed to Ne*Yo music until my Junior Year of High School.
I don't own a car, which I see is the only source of listening to songs on the radio,
so I'm not always up to date with new songs coming out.
My first song to hear of Ne*Yo's was most likely "So Sick" or "Sexy Love".
It was playing on the radio for quite a while.
Everyone loved it, and I'm not one to go with the "in" things.
So once the hype of "So Sick" or "Sexy Love" died down,
I was able to appreciate Ne*Yo's music and lyrics.
My good friend Jerico introduced me to "Because of You" later on that year.
And as always, I wasn't paying attention to it.
I didn't know the name "Ne*Yo".
When "Because of You" started circling the radio,
I gradually memorized the lyrics, and began to like it.
I guess after that, I heard "Hate that I love You" featuring Rihanna.
Not one of my favorite singers.
When I heard the lyrics, I fell in love immediately.
I already loved Ne*Yo's gentle soothing voice.
And realized the music he has, R&B style, is very good.
Compared to other Artists out there, like Chris Brown, or Kanye West,
(Mind you, have good songs themselves)
Ne*Yo's music is very different.
I was beginning to lose hope in R&B artists/Rappers.
I thought that songs like those were only related to "sex" or "dirty dancing", etc.
Which most "popular" song to this day, are mostly about.
But Ne*Yo, changed my mind.
I decided to go on my favorite site, Google.com,
And search for Ne*Yo lyrics.
And without hearing any of the music at first, I just read the lyrics.
And if the lyrics interested me enough, I would youtube the song.
So far for those songs, have mostly ended up on my iPod.
... and I'm hoping that Ne*Yo will create more amazing music for me to add to my iPod.
