Made Men -In the Year of the "Gentleman" Made Men is a troupe of young men of color (ages 15-25) inspired by Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman persona, album & attitude. This troupe will put the ball of fashion, fame & finesse back in the hands of gentlemen and those aspiring to be. All this will come about through a celebrity & entertainment filled fashion show launching "Made Men E-Magazine" in January 2010.
It will feature independent as well as professional young MEN who will inspire and teach other young men to be REAL MEN, through their arts & entertainment, business and professional careers, and non-profit organizations.
We will also address issues that face young men of color; such as inequities due to racism, social & economical, and self-identity and self-esteem issues. We will provide resources from employment and career placement, to educational and financial management, to the most seemingly simplistic teachings of how to tie a tie, talk to your parents, abuse survival and understanding their sexuality.
I say "simplistic" because most think "everyone" should know how to deal with these issues; but we at MADE MEN promote and stand behind the statement- "You can never learn to be a man unless you see a REAL MAN."
And that is what MADE MEN will be. So all the REAL MEN stand up, stand out, show up and show out for upcoming auditions and sponsorship opportunities.
