Michael "Forever" Tribute concert - 08/10/2011 I know it's been almost 2 weeks since this concert took place; but I've only now found the time to post about it :-)
Happily I was able to attend the concert; as the venue, Cardiff Millennium Stadium, is right on my doorstep!
"Ne-Yo" kicked off the show with Billie Jean & did a wonderful job! ...I liked the outfits he wore (a suit similar to that off the B.Jean video) and he changed into what Michael would wear on stage (sequin jacket, glove, hat etc)... the attention to detail was brilliant - he did a great job! :-)
In fact, all the performers did well - I don't usually compliment anyone who attempts to sing an MJ song (as in my opinion no-one can sing them like he did!) ...but they all did good! :-) And seeing his children on stage was emotional to say the least! ...I think all our hearts really went out to them! xxx
Although I had a good night; the whole event was a little bitter-sweet for me. On numerous occasions in the past I've been extremely lucky to have seen Michael Jackson in concert. The hype, the electric, the atmosphere his presence created can never be duplicated - and although this show was to celebrate his life/career; I couldn't help but feel sad that such an amazing rare talent was no longer with us :-(
Oh my gosh, I only came on to post... well done "Ne-Yo" on your performance and I've gone off on a tangent, hehe.
Oh and before I go... I would love to see one of YOUR shows in Cardiff, Mr. Smith! ...if not at the Millenium Stadium - there's the Cardiff International Arena ;-) xxx |
